Hiking in Salt Lake City with small kids-Cecret Lake

Britten and I enjoy spending time outdoors and enjoying the mountains here in Salt Lake City. At the beginning of the summer we invested in good water-proof hiking boots. We did about 8 hikes last summer so I think this is a hobby we will really enjoy while living here on the Wasatch Front. Each time we go out we hope our 4 year old will be willing to hike on her own. After having many difficult hiking excursions last summer, we went to REI and invested in a Poco Plus carrier. It is a structured carrier that comes with an attached backpack. It is a lifesaver! We would not be able to hike with Farrah without it. This past Saturday we hiked up to Cecret Lake from Alta Resort. We parked our car and had to wait in line to take the shuttle up to start the hike. Once off the shuttle the hike to Cecret lake is only 1 mile. This seemed to be a good distance to do with a 4 year old and 1 year old. Our 1 year old has been a baby-wearing baby her whole life. She enjoys being attached to me s
